What is cannabidiol/CBD?
Cannabidiol (CBD) is a naturally occurring compound found in the resinous flower of cannabis, a plant with a rich history as a medicine going back thousands of years. Today the therapeutic properties of CBD are being tested and confirmed by scientists and doctors around the world. A safe, non-addictive substance, CBD is one of more than a hundred “phytocannabinoids,” which are unique to cannabis and endow the plant with its robust therapeutic profile.
How does CBD work?
The magic of CBD lies fully in its relationship with the endocannabinoid system (often referred to as the ECS). The ECS is a collection of cell receptors located throughout the body- mainly in the brain and central nervous system, but also in the organs and connective tissues. The main task of the ECS is regulating homeostasis throughout the body, i.e. bringing the body to optimal balance. Because of the many areas in which the ECS receptors are located (and their ability to maintain homeostasis) the ECS is considered one of the most important systems in the body in regards to maintaining health.
What is a tincture? How do I take a tincture?

Will CBD make me high?
Cannabidiol (CBD) is naturally non-intoxicating. You may feel more calm when taking it as CBD’s effects are more relaxing vs a high feeling. Not only will CBD not get you high, but it actually counteracts the higheffects of THC, which is the compound notorious for getting people high.
Where does CBD come from?
CBD is extracted and separated from specific varieties of cannabis, often known as hemp. Chemically, CBD is one of 85 chemical substances known as cannabinoids, which are all found in the cannabis plant. CBD is the second most abundant compound in hemp, typically representing up to 40% of its extracts.
CBD is extracted in oil form and is often found mixed in hemp oil extracts in varying concentrations.
Can CBD relieve pain?
Cannabidiol, or CBD, is the second most prevalent cannabinoid in medical marijuana, the first being tetrahydrocannabinol, or THC. Unlike THC, CBD is non-psychoactive, meaning it doesn’t get you high. CBD helps a lot of symptoms and disorders as THC. A 2013 study found CBD to reduce nausea and vomiting, suppress seizure activity, combat anxiety, depression, and even psychosis disorders. It was also found to have anti-inflammatory properties, antitumor properties, and antioxidant properties that could fight neurodegenerative disorders.
How long until I feel the effects of CBD?
CBD effects can usually take up to 30 minutes depending on the dosage. Because there are no psychoactive ingredients with CBD oil, there is no “high” effect; however, a significant decrease in symptoms – reduced pain, calming sense, etc. – should be noticeable. Again, results are dependent on your dosage and purpose for using CBD.
About Our Products
There is no ‘correct’ CBD dosage. The optimal dose for a consumer depends on several factors, such as body type, CBD tolerance, and the consumer’s level of pain or discomfort. The type of CBD product and its concentration are other important considerations, since some products interact differently with the body than others. We recommend starting with a small dosage and increasing as necessary.
Where is it made?
Uncle Pete’s CBD takes pride in saying all of our products are made and processed in the USA. Our hemp is grown in Colorado, an optimal growing state for the product.
Will I pass a drug test?
Our CBD products are all well below the .3% legal limit of THC. However, while very unlikely this can possibly trigger a positive result of THC in drug tests. We highly recommend speaking with your employers or future employers about their regulations and the product you’re using to prevent any misunderstandings.
